Seat of Morpheus

Begun as a coalescing of strange beings in the bowels of west-side Saskatoon, we started creating music in the confines of a small room and with the addition of our keyboardist, and later guitarist, crept into the local music scene.
We have a rocking sound with a grooving rhythm section layered with flowing guitar and infused with electric organ. Drawing on all styles conceivable, and some inconceivable, we created the musical Frankenstein
that is Seat Of Morphus.

On drums and lead vocals, Isaac “Jack Strange” Klaassen-Wright. Isaac decided to play drums many years ago to alleviate the frustration he felt for being wrongly accused of breaking a vase. The real culprits were of course his stuffed animals. The IAYG (International Association of Young Girls) has praised his decision to turn to music instead of following in the footsteps of many other boys and swearing bloody vengeance against all stuffed animals. Recently he has achieved renown as being the top suspect in the LGG (League of Garden Gnomes) Killings after swearing in front of witnesses that he would make them pay for eating his pants.

On Bass, Guifré “Jub Jub” Bantjes-Ràfols. Guifré wandered the streets of Barcelona for many years, until he met an airplane pilot by the name of Jeff O’Reilley, who flew him as a stowaway to Canada where he met Isaac
KW
while on a fishing trip in search of Moby Pike, the baddest fish in the lake. Guifré, after hearing Isaac’s story, agreed to create a band with him. They then began to wander the plains in search of inspiration, and the rest of the band.

On keyboard, Isaac “Mooseman” Walker. Isaac was abandoned as a baby in the forests of northern Canada, where he was raised by a moose. As he grew older, the moose taught him the secrets of moose throat singing which led him to befriend a grizzly, hew a piano out of the heart of a giant redwood cedar, and create the First National Flying Fish Orchestra.

On Guitar, Stephen “Steph Mantra” Peesker. Stephen, the self-taught master of electric voodoo, spent most of his young life in the Electric Circus watching as the ringmaster, Manta Ray Jones, led his troupe through stunt after stunt in search of the perfect voice. Being the genius that he is, Stephen composed the Soundtrack of Solitude, the evocation of the troupe’s fruitless journey. Jones could not bear the truth of Stephen’s music and banished him from the circus where we found him, alone, wandering the cement prison of the city.
