Policies, Terms of Reference
A. CanIndie has been set up for one purpose, and one purpose only. "To support Canadian Independent Recording Artists in their marketing efforts on the Internet". Although a division of CyberSlang Consulting, CanIndie's mandate is not one of commercial gain, stemming rather from an interest in supporting Canadian Independent Musicians.
B. CanIndie Artist Profiles: These are FREE listings on www.canindie.com . CanIndie retains design and content rights for all listings. Each artist must submit an online Request for Profile, after which, upon approval, the profile will be designed and posted by CanIndie staff. Updates will be performed at the discretion of the CanIndiestaff, at the request of the artist. CanIndie accepts ALL genres of music. CanIndie does reserve the right to reject an artist's Request for Profile and/or CanIndie membership under extenuating circumstances.
C. Websites and Blogs: (First Fifty Program) CanIndie custom-designed artist websites and blogs must reside on our servers and are subject to server fees, to be paid prior to launch. Fees and charges levied by CanIndie are minimal, pertaining only to the recovery of administration and back-end costs. They are based on a (1) one year contract and are renewable on an annual basis. Yearly server fees are subject to change.
Because First Fifty Program websites are FREE of charge, CanIndie retains all rights to custom graphics, logos, etc. as created by its designers. These materials may be released to the artist if requested, only through written consent from CanIndie. Our completed website/blog designs are the sole property of CanIndie and may not be removed from our servers, unless released by us.
