Betrayer

Betrayer is unlike any hard rock/metal band in this day and age. These Canadian rockers offer a unique classic vocal style and thrashy riffs that will take you back to when metal was at its finest. In 1996, lead singer and guitarist Jeff Klingbeil and drummer Shawn Bastien formed the band and thereafter William Lozon (guitar) and Sinan Khalaf (bass) completed the line-up. They produced their first LP "Rusted Icons" in 2001. In 2005, EP "Shadowed Force" was released and in 2007 they released a single “Headed for Disaster” which was featured on BW&BK’s Knuckle Tracks and also gained regular airplay on Detroit’s 101.1 FM WRIF.
Currently, Betrayer has completed their new full length album. Recording was completed in late 2009 with producer Glenn Fricker at Spectre Sound Studios. Mixing and Mastering took place at Studio Fredman by Henrik Udd and Fredrik Nordstrom (world renowned music producer and guitarist of Dream Evil whose worked with bands such as; In Flames, Arch Enemy, Opeth and Hammerfall). The album art was completed by 5 time Juno award winner Hugh Syme who's done album covers for bands such as Rush, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and Def Leppard.
Betrayer have opened for such influences as Iron Maiden, Dio, Helix, Motorhead, Anvil, Paul Di’Anno and Baptized In Blood. They have worked with promotional teams Howard Rosen (Warner, Casablanca, Elektra) and Pete Palazzolo (Polar Bear Music); Mixing and Mastering Engineers Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Edguy, Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica) of Finnvox; and Phil Demetre of Lacquer Channel; and have also been praised in various publications including Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles and Recording magazine.
